Yes. Although there are a few counties that will allow recertification without testing (i.e. if you work in Chester County Pennsylvania or Montgomery County Pennsylvania, you may opt to sit for continuing education and not test).
Both the ServSafe certification and the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals (NRFSP) certification are good across the nation and beyond. They are each ANSI certified exams and accepted by every health department in the country.
You will have your score approximately two weeks from the date of your exam.
You will have to schedule a "retake." The fee for this is $60. You can schedule this online or give us a call. It is an Exam Only fee. You do not have sit for the entire class.
You are technically "certified" as soon a your exam is graded and you have passed the exam; however, you will not be able to obtain a license (in most cases) until you receive your certificate. This takes about 3 weeks.
In most cases, you will have your certificate within 3 weeks from the date of your exam.
Each certification is valid for 5 years; however, some jurisdictions in the USA require certification more frequently.
Dress comfortably, business casual is fine. No clothing with obscenities will be permitted. Ball caps and visors must be removed during testing.
You should bring a notebook, #2 pencil, and either a packed lunch or funds to purchase lunch.
